Ultrasound scanning
We are specialists in ultrasound.
Ultrasound is an excellent way of looking at soft tissues such as muscles, tendons, ligaments and joint problems inside the body. Ultrasound is completely safe and unlike X-rays and CT scanners, it does not use ionising radiation. When appropriate we will use it to help with the diagnosis of your problem. Ultrasound is used in "real time" to look at muscles, joints, bones or tendons, so the results are available immediately.
We are experts in musculoskeletal ultrasound.
Steroid injections
Cortisone, corticosteroid or steroid injections are one of the most powerful ways of reducing inflammation in joints or other soft tissues in the body.
We are experts in performing injections, putting the steroid exactly where it is needed while causing the minimum amount of pain. Most of our clients tell us that the injections we perform are nowhere near as painful as they were expecting!
Ultrasound guided injections
All the steroid injections we perform are ultrasound guided. This means that as we perform the injection we can guide the needle to exactly the right place before injecting the steroid. We believe this gives you the best possible result with minimal risk of causing damage to other tissues.
Advice on how you can manage your condition
After your ultrasound scan or steroid injection you will be given advice on how to manage your condition to maximise your pain control. We do not do physiotherapy follow-up treatments, but when this is appropriate we will recommend you an appropriate physiotherapist in your area.
